A Real Michael Rood Awakening Concerning
Alleged Torah Observant Activities
Michael Rood's
Complaints
2 Peter 2:1
But there were false prophets
also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers
among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies,
even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon
themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow
their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth
shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall
they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose
judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their
damnation slumbereth not.
While I do not
normally address flaming and inaccurate statements
concerning myself, I think in this instance it should be
discussed. As Noted in the
A Real Michael Rood Awakening Concerning Alleged Torah Observant Activities, the following information was discussed.
Following that is a continuation of Michael Rood's
complaints and analysis of such.
In his May,
2007 Newsletter, Michael Rood stated:
"I occasionally hear some of the malicious diatribe
that these lying commandment breakers
disseminate on their websites, attempting to destroy
me and other honorable teachers around the
globe. Spreading sick and twisted falsehoods is
the defining characteristic of these individuals who
have no firsthand witness of the things that they
purport to be true. They literally manufacture
lies which they will neither expunge nor correct
when confronted.
Years ago my personal secretary in America, the late
Linda Miller, attempted to correct one of these
slanderers in a very forthright and gentle manner.
But like most who feed on slander and spread gossip,
this twisted woman refused to retract or correct one
single falsehood. Instead, she escalated her
attack, fabricating even more vehement lies out of her
own sad and twisted sense of reality."

Actually, the late Linda Miller requested I remove
reference of her high school reunion information, which
was public information published on the internet, and
documented as such. I merely quoted it to validate age
information. I chose to remove that information. The
second email which was sent by her, was referring to her
Home Fellowship information advertised on Norman Willis'
website, which was a public ad. I chose not to remove it
because of the ties to Michael Rood. This is openly
discussed in the article
The
Reverend Michael John Rood, and includes the
documentation. I retracted nothing nor was there an error
to correct, nor did I, nor do I,
fabricate any facts or documentation. There is no need, as
I generally quote from published information, including
quotes from Michael Rood's own mouth or various media.
It's rather odd that Michael Rood, who provides close to
zero documentation in his 'teachings', should suggest the
facts are not real. Flaming and name calling is not
considered providing facts with documentation or proof of
anything except the inability to prove one's own
statements or position.
To
continue with his complaints from the May 2007 letter:
"...For years I chose to ignore her virulent attacks
and refused to allow her vindictive lies to distract
me from the work of the ministry. ... I chose to ignore
her so as to not be distracted from the work of the
ministry, but her lies are now affecting A Rood
Awakening’s work worldwide...."
The "her" Michael Rood is complaining about is me,
although Dr. John Juedes, Pam Dewey, and other individuals
with websites do some specific critical reviews concerning
him. Dr Juedes focuses on The Way International theology
found within Michael Rood's teachings and so on. The "virulent
attacks" and "vindictive lies" statements are obviously
false. I research and try to present in-depth reports on
that research regardless who it is. There are none
who are to receive special status or privilege or who are
exempt of the scriptural requirements to prove all things.
Those who belong to Christ are to have no reputation to be
concerned about. Those who complain are those who have
forgotten such Scriptures as:
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is
come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than
light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light,
neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be
reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his
deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in
God.
The statement by Michael Rood, "for years I chose to ignore" is also not accurate. I
wrote about this in an article
titled
Vicky Dillen's
Inquisition, which was written in 2004, and quoting specific snippets from
2003 statements in that article:

moved to Israel, and I heard from them about this post below and they

email) ..... It is outrageous and
untrue and awful to watch people practive becoming more and more adept at
tearing the body of messiah apart! -- Therefore, the TV producer for
Michael mailed me and thanked me for how I was handling the issues.. This
was a surprise..! :-) " end email
It should be noted, that
Michael Rood
did not issue a “formal rebuttal” as stated in
the above e-mail, therefore, the strength of his 'defense'
rested solely on Tricia Tillin’s article.
Since publishing that article, there has
been no correspondence from Michael Rood or his staff
stating any particular fact or documentation was
inaccurate. As with any information, if documented or
provable information is provided, I provide the new
material into the articles.
As
far as the impact my website has concerning Michael Rood,
the recent infighting and breakup of his organization
publicly disclosed financial records which showed an
income to be in excess of 1 million dollars for 2006, and
another million from January to July in 2007. It
seems to me a 'ministry' depending on pleas for
money shouldn't feel dissatisfied with that income. In fact there should be no complaints, if, as
is often stated, God has supplied all needs. But then, one
has to determine what are needs versus desires of the
flesh, something which came under public scrutiny by the
summer of 2007.
To
continue with Michael Rood's complaint driven newsletter:
"It was disconcerting to think that innocent people were
reading these libelous allegations and
believing that they had some basis in reality. There
are non-believers and even more sadly, believers, who
will listen to these false and poisonous statements
and then actively bear the same false witness to
others. This is direct disobedience to the ninth
commandment.
A righteous person is required by the Torah to “make
diligent inquiry” and demand accountability on the part
of the accuser. Regrettably this is seldom done,
and I am constantly vilified by the
false witness of
this soulless woman and those who quote her."
I
think making diligent inquiry is just what is done
on this website. The end result may not be what some might
like, but each can draw their own conclusions and do their
own "Prove all things". Libel suggests that
there is a desire to speak falsely. I strive for accuracy,
and take great lengths to attempt to confirm all material. Since Michael Rood has never given
any factual information with documentation and so on to
refute anything directly on this site and directly to
me...and more than 3 witnesses, who did not know each
other, have presented documented facts, including
newspaper or radio interviews concerning him personally and his
teachings and have come to similar conclusions within those
facts...it is up to individuals to decide what they wish
to call truth or lies, and accountability.

perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
Michael
Rood continued in his diatribe with, "In order to combat these forces of darkness, ... I
will let the world hear exactly what I teach, and allow
the individual to separate the facts from the filth.
Those who have succumbed to lies in the past will soon
be able to go to the Internet and listen to and watch
everything that we have produced for over a decade. The
world will soon be able to freely access all of my
teachings.
...if you want to see the
ministry grow and be a blessing to others like you who
are hungering and thirsting after righteousness – then I
need some serious help, and I need it now.
...Will you stand with me – or
will you stand on the sidelines and watch as the
accuser of the brethren and his hoards work to destroy
us?
We will let the Almighty deal with the slanderers. He
has established detailed procedures on how to deal with
this very matter. But as for me and our staff, we
will continue to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom in
all the world for a true
witness!"
It
should be noted that The Rood Crew had sent out an email,
detailing Michael Rood and his associates experience while
in Uganda. The statements were similar to what Michael
himself had stated:

turns out that Michael and his team were picked up from

message because of the false witness of an individual
who has been working against the ministry for several
years.
... in order to hear the Gospel of the Kingdom and the
Prophetic Fulfillment of the Feasts of the LORD. Before
the end of their adventure, thousands were cheering at
the top of their voices, "Baruch haba baShem YAHWEH" as
they prepared to receive Yahshua when he returns as King
of Kings.
Michael and
Todd were also welcomed with open arms ...The
lies that have been deliberately disseminated to malign
Michael and cause harm to this ministry were all turned
to the good in this adventure in
Africa. But, due to
their serious nature and content, we believe that it is
now imperative to confront them with the truth and
expose the false witnesses who litter the internet with
their fetid fodder. Our new motto: Keep the Internet
Beautiful – and free of those who violate the ninth
commandment....

"...I have mixed emotions about her attacks.
Indirectly she has provided an extremely valuable
service to us by helping us focus the outreach of our
ministry worldwide. This has resulted in multitudes
hearing the message of the Gospel of Yahshua and
his Torah..."
Michael
Rood's choice to go to other countries was a choice he and his
group decided to make. It had nothing to do with me or my
website. While
Michael Rood wishes to vilify and denigrate me personally, I do
have a soul, and it belongs to Jesus Christ. Since Michael Rood
views the name of Jesus, and the beliefs concerning Him also
pagan, it is not a surprise for even his most recent e-mailings,
including this May 2007 email, to discuss the person named
Yahshua...which is not the Hebrew name for Jesus.
Later when in the midst of the 2007 controversy Michael Rood
wrote letters to Jamie Louis with the name Yahshua, which is a
made up name, but fundraised using the name Yeshua.

1 John 4:2 Hereby know ye the
Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ
is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that
confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not
of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have
heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the
world
The above statements are more than a little interesting.
First, I don't attack, I research and report. Michael Rood
constantly tells his audiences to "leave their western
Gentile mind behind", and many don't realize he is a
Gentile himself. In fact in 2006, in a radio interview
with Jan Mickelson in Des Moines Iowa, Michael Rood, who
was accompanied by Jamie Louis, stated the following:
R: I do live in
Israel.
J: Are you a citizen
of Israel?
R: No, my wife is a
citizen. I am a journalist, that’s just the best way
for me to live at this time.
J: For me to describe
for my listeners, you came in with the Eastern – you
look like an observant Jewish Rabbi like you are a
practicing …
R: Lubavitcher?
J: Yeah.
J: But you’re not
Israelites.
R: Yes, yes we are
Israelites.
J: You are???
You’re Jews?
R: Yes, we are.
We’re not ancient Israelites.

I believe the above claim of
being Jews and Israelites is viewed as an affront to
actual practicing Jews. Because Rood has been involved with Way
theology and Two House/Lost Tribes/Ephraim/ theology, these claims
remove the concept of the Jewish people.
Let's recap the many names and titles Michael
Rood has had:
"The Reverend Michael
John Rood
", "Rabbi", "Rabbi Michael Rood" or "Messianic rabbi (teacher)
Michael Rood", "Messianic Kairite Rabbi"
(he and Judith joined the Kairite movement, which
rejects the NT and Christ), "Messianic Jewish
Rabbi, " “honorary mohel”,
Torah Observant" Messianic or Jewish Messianic
(he was not born Jewish), a "Levite" (he's not
of the levitical priesthood), living as a levite, Baptist minister (he was
not), a former Baptist minister , a rabbi, "I am a
Jewish follower of the Jewish Messiah", Gentile ,
"Christian
teacher",
prophet...Bible teacher, marine sergeant, author,
lecturer, professional Bible instructor for more than
thirty years...
And by 2006 Michael Rood claims to be a journalist from
Israel and
lubavitcher---which, if he meant he agreed with that
description, or means he's claiming to be a kabbalist.
As stated in the prior article, his claim of being called
to a ministry has been one of alleged direct and new
revelation, being called to give the message to North
America, despite being a proven false prophet. He has used
Christian media, while he himself rejects Christianity as
pagan and uses Christian terms and inroads to expand. I
believe those in the Christian media who have promoted him
have been more than a little contrary to their stated
purposes and statements of faith.
Apparently
Michael Rood's experience with not understanding the Scriptures
has clouded his view to be one that states no one can
understand the scriptures except through his teaching,
which is the same theology Wierwille taught. Continuing
with his May email:
"Those
who heed and bear a false witness in direct disobedience
to the commandments of God have judged themselves
unworthy of the Gospel of the Kingdom, and
have willingly
excluded themselves from hearing our message. This has
kept us from wasting our time on the wolves who dress in
shepherd’s clothing and
from searching
for fruit among fields of tares."
The above
statements have been ripped from the scriptures and
changed so that instead of referring to the gospel of
Jesus Christ and the Jews rejection of it (Acts
13:26)...it's Michael Rood and his 'interpretation' and
often changing of the Scriptures that is being rejected.
As far as 'wolves
who dress in shepherd's clothing'...I'm no shepherd and
have never made claims to be anything but a believer in
Jesus Christ and a Berean. However, Michael Rood has made claim to be the one
leader to be listened
to. The Scriptures do warn, " Beware of false prophets,
which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they
are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:15"
The Scriptures also
state that the tares will grow in the fields alongside the
wheat, and it is the
angels who will gather the tares first, and then the
fruit, and that, not until the final harvest. Apparently knowledge of the Scriptures is not a
prerequisite to claim to teach the Scriptures:
Matthew 13:27 So the servants of the householder came
and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in
thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The
servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and
gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares,
ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the
time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye
together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to
burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
...37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the
good seed is the Son of man;
38 The field is the world; the good seed are the
children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children
of the wicked one;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the
harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the
angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the
fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they
shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend,
and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there
shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
